Description:
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for leading overall strategic and operational responsibility for organization grant projects, along with managing key administrative and HR responsibilities within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Impact Creation
Take overall accountability of successful grant and program management through active listening, problem solving and providing strategic inputs which align with and enable org. vision of high impact on the ground
Articulate and execute org. theory of change to guide all their activities
Create solutions to meet org. current and future goals, based on the theory of change, working closely with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally
Influence decision making and action at the senior level of grantee organizations to enable positive and sustainable impact
Develop, manage and grow working relationships with grantees and other key stakeholders in the development ecosystem (other funders, consortiums, government stakeholders and technical partners)
Lead the design and management of new initiatives and/or flagship programs for organization
Ensure the maintenance of a positive brand image for organization in the ecosystem
2.Administration
Establish strong systems for financial discipline and governance across the organization, including ensuring compliance and establishing systems for regular processes such as contracting, audit and reporting
Engage with all external stakeholders on legal, financial and other compliance related requirements
Ensure seamless execution of all administrative activity across the organization, including those involving third party vendors
Be the first level support in case of any administrative or external emergency
Ensure that the IT needs of the organization are met adequately based on the right market solutions
3.Human Resources
Design recruitment strategy for the organization and a framework for predictable execution of recruitment processes.
Manage the recruitment, selection and hiring of new staff, service contractors and short-term volunteers
Ensure that job descriptions are developed for new positions and reviewed/revised for ongoing positions as required
Ensure that a job planning, performance management and appraisal system is established and implemented for all staff
Develop and standardize salary benchmarks, salary structure for various positions in the organogram
Establish processes to address developmental and capacity building needs through external training programs, delivery of in-house training, enrollment in online learning programs, mentoring, and other methods as appropriate.
Candidate profile:
Qualification:
Post Graduate degree in Finance/Law/HR (or an equivalent degree) from a reputed institution in India or abroad
IIT/ MBA from top 50 Institute or an MSW (or related degree) from an esteemed university within or outside India
2.Experience:
Minimum 10-15 years of relevant work experience across business and social domains.

Prior experience in driving operations holistically for social sector organizations
Demonstrated commitment to the sector, prior experience of having worked in the social impact space
Exceptional problem-solving and advisory skills, especially related to building the capabilities of non-profits
Experience of leading teams in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
Prior experience in setting up systems and processes (rather than operating systems)
Strong understanding and hands-on experience across Finance, Compliance and legal aspects
Demonstrated understanding of HR technical areas, such as compensation and benefits, employment, job evaluation, salary administration, performance management and personnel development
Strong customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
